When vaccination fell, measles came back.

Since 2015 Brazil has not reached its goal of vaccinating 95% of children against polio. In 2022 coverage was 77.2%.

With measles, the bill came quickly. In 2018, with vaccination low, the virus began circulating again: there were 9,329 cases. In 2019 there were 21,704, and Brazil lost its certificate.

Cases fell to 41 in 2022. In November 2024 the country got its certificate back.
