The political scientist Alberto Carlos Almeida compared 2002 with 2022 and 2023. The share of Brazilians who cannot say what the left is went from 23% to 47%. For the right, from 21% to 46%.

The fight between the two sides grew in that period. Understanding of the two words did not.
